The first time I entered an art show I was asked to write down the title for this piece. I was put on the spot and had no idea what to call it. To me a title has to have some meaning behind it, but i just blurted out "Out of Africa". Not knowing where it that came from I rolled with it. Now I am extremely pleased with that name.

After that back story let me explain Out of Africa. The coil vase it self reminds me of Africa and with the face breaking through represents how the people of Africa always fight wether it be slavery, poverty, education, discrimination, genocide etc. and all they want to do is be heard. Read Less
