Since 1996 in Orongo, located 7 km south of Kisumu on Lake Victoria, Florence Orongo leads a support group for widows and orphans whose relatives had died of AIDS.
Currently, only about a thousand of seven thousand inhabitants of the village are adult.
About 3,000 of this number are orphans.
