Only Hope was a branding project assigned to me in the fall of 2009. This required a full detailed branding of a pet store. I came up with "Only Hope" as a pet store that not just seeks to sell animal products, but also seeks to help animals in need with veterinarian care. The market in which this store would compete is very competitive. So, this store would be focused on urban areas for competition.
After much brainstorming, I decided to go with the logo seen below. My intention was to get across to the viewer the idea of pet store being more that "just a pet store", but a pet store that attempts to aid the customers' animals in desperate need. I believe the dove achieves this very simple idea of hope and acts in the branding as a constant reminder of what Only Hope is all about.
I really enjoyed this project, for it challenged me to think in the means of a brand identity, not just a logo. I think what really helps in this brand is the unifying symbol of hope (the dove) as well as the simple scheme (layout and color choice).
