As a third year illustration project we were to take part in the One Small Seed Banksy Compitition. I delved into the techniques used in my earlier illustration project to make a stencil of a Google sourced image of Jacob Zuma, South Africa's current president. He has an interesting habit of adjusting his glasses with his middle finger.
That and I wanted to make a Banksy-esque statement on the ANCs current feelings towards the people who voted for them. The ANC is a shadow of its former self, and its members care more about getting rich than uplifting South Africa. That seems to be the private sectors job.
Posters were stencilled on A2 paper, the page cut to size to fit in the newspaper headline pages on street poles. I put up about a dozen of these in a suburb outside of Johannesburg.
