Oliver Breweries' War of 1812

CONCEPT

When Steve Jones, master brewer of Oliver Breweries, was asked to brew a special beer for the War of 1812 Anniversary, instead of saying no, he argued that the war of independence between Britain and the U.S. should be fought again... this time with Pale Ale!

Pitted against his Pennsylvannia native assistant Derek, Steve Jones brewed a British Pale Ale using all British malt, hops, and yeast while Derek brewed an American version. Exactly the same recipe but, with American malt, hops, and yeast.

BRIEF

As the battle was apart of a city wide series of events I was asked as a designer and illustrator to develop artwork that would visually narrate the battle. The artwork was featured on tap handles, t-shirts, posters, and signage and was key in identifying which side of the war you stood.
