This project came in black box (prescription book) with a color illustration book and cards to use when performing the ritual for the prayer. The cards represent each illustration and have the ritual text on the back. This ritual is usually performed by a self-proclaimed faith-healer.

The people of “Vale do Bestança” live essentially of the faith and of the belief, the geographical isolation, contributed for the conservation of some ancestral traditions.  The night brings the fears, the superstitions and the spirits, the faith protects against the stranger and the forces of evil.  With the absence of the doctor, Old prayer’s arises like prescribes past of generation in generation. Old prayer’s or “enasalmos”, as part of  our culture, jointly with other ancestral traditions of our country, belong to a cultural legacy that should be preserved for the future generations, lose them is losing part of the our identity and our history. I grew with the people of “Vale do Bestança”, my grandfather village “Bustelo da Lage”, knowing the habits and the customs the proximity to the object of desire is fundamental the illustrator becomes-itself accomplice and lover of his object, a fruitful relation of inspiration flowed naturally. Each illustration transmit the compelling environment and the way of life of the populations of the Valley, through the living matter and crudely of the elements, the blood, the land, the stone, in the symbology of the constant fight between the good and evil.
