Nike x ShapeShift

I stumbled across this youtube clip that showed "ShapeShift" technology.

I was immediately inspired, I thought this could be an incredible technology to incorporate with athletic sneakers. The “ShapeShift” could act as a supportive layer and change to support the foot, mainly the ankle on different cuts and at different angles. I combined this idea with inspiration from Batman’s “tumbler” vehicle from the newest Batman movie. It is the ultimate vehicle for Batman, providing protection and supports, as well as speed, and firepower. I began designing this sneaker as a basketball sneaker with both of those ideas in mind.
Inspiration for the logo came from shapes on the traction on the tires.
The ShapeShift layer reacts to motion detected by the sensor. When a certain amount of motion is detected by the sensor, a pre-programmed amount of electricity is applied to the ShapeShift layer so that it will change itself to best support the foot.
