I designed footwear and packaging for a collaboration between Kevin Durant's Nike Zoom KD IV and Nerf. Kevin Durant's childhood had memories of playing with the Classic Nerfoop miniature hanging basketball set. We wanted to bring that memory to life by created a fun package of shoes and the signature toy with crazy colors and graphics that Nerf is well-known for.
The box was designed as a two-tier shell box, the top revealing the backboard (removable and usable) and plastic hoop. A circular cutout reveals the the foam Nerf basketball and hints at the layer underneath. Lift the first layer, and discover a color and texture explosion.
