In my Design Concepts and Problems class, we created board games in small groups. Our game was based on nightmares and titled “Night Terror”. I was in charge of designing the Event cards (similar to “Chance” cards in Monopoly) and the Instructions booklet. The word “event” on the front of the cards is an ambigram, so it can still be read upside down. The back side of the cards have subtle hidden messages within the text, such as “anxiety” and “agony”. Each card had a different hidden message. The instruction booklet from the Night Terror game also had hidden messages. The inside message reads “Night Terror”. The back side of the instructions booklet is actually a collection of nightmares told by my classmates. The hidden message there is “you’re next”. The word “instructions” on the front side is also an ambigram, so it can still be read upside down.
