Navetas - a startup firm with a unique home energy monitor technology - approached Cambridge Design Partnership to help them quickly turn their technology into a range of consumer products.
Working in a small team of engineers and designers, we established a brand identity for Navteas, and created caseworks for the whole product range, from in-home touchscreen display to clip-on meters, with a consistent brand style. I then created user interface designs for both the fixed-segment in-home display and online accounts.
The key challenge lay in conveying energy consumption data in a simple and intuitive way for a wide range of consumers, and making this design work consistently across different display platforms. Less than a year from initial concept, these products are to be trialled in the field, attracting keen interest from prospective customers.
