Nature in Black & White

- When I first started making pictures I made a conscious decision to stick to black & white. I knew that I did not have a very strong understanding of the technical aspects of photography so decided to just deal with luminosity as a way to accelerate the learning process. In fact what I learned was the real value of colour, tone and hue, when to use them and when not to. These are pictures that were all made in colour but which had the strong textural or graphical qualities that would work best in black & white.
