The concept of this picture plays on the idea that technology can have a very thorough impact on nature by showing a mother elephant in the context of technology, representing power, force, and sheer size. The mother elephant (technology) is nurturing a baby elephant, which is in the context of nature itself, representing delicacy and needing gentle care to continue growth.
The image shows a fine line between technology's ability to nourish nature or cause more destruction to it. The bigger picture of this image stays closely within the realm of nature itself as I want to make the point that technology should never overshadow nature, but rather supplement it for better growth.
This artwork was drawn and coloured on Adobe Photoshop and was featured at the Emerge Exhibit - a Multimedia Arts Exhibit - in March 2012.
