I visited London in October and had the rare treat of having a private viewing in the archives of my portrait of Jack Brymer which is in the Primary Collection of the National Portrait Gallery. (There are over 300,000 works in the collection, and only about 10,000 in the Primary Collection). The portrait was acquired by the gallery back in 1992. The person holding up my work is Dr. Tim Moreton, the collections manager (registrar), who has worked at the NPG for 33 years and is sadly having to retire at the end of this year (2013), at the young age of only 66. I hope he will have a wonderful post-gallery career in the private sector. His knowledge in phenomenal.
