  • NYC Department of Design and Construction is the branch of the municipal government of NYC that designs
and builds civic facilities and infrastructure.

is the Citys primary capital construction project manager. DDC builds NYCs hospitals, libraries, police
precincts, firehouses, sewers, water mains, and roadways. The streets beneath are designed and maintained by
the skilled engineers and architects employed by the DDC. To successfully manage a portfolio, valued at over six
billion dollars, DDC partners with other City agencies, as well as with emerging and world-renowned architects and consultants whose experience and creativity bring efficient, innovative, and environmentally-conscious design and construction strategies to NY City.
  • This bus shelter poster on West Broadway (NYC) is part of a campaign by NYCDDC to keep the community of Lower Manhattan informed of the reconstruction project on Chambers Street.
  • Along with posters, booklets were designed with maps and illustrations to provide information about the multi-million dollar reconstruction project. Above is page from the Chambers Street Booklet.

New York City's infrastructure, one of the most
intricate systems in the world is over a 100 years old. Many segments of this infrastructure requires maintenance in order to provide the city with water and sewer pipes.
