NO?GO! - Critical Mapping

NO?GO! is a team project where we explored critical mapping in the area of South Bank, Brisbane. We found it interesting that an area that is supposed to represent the creative and artistic is controlled with so many restrictions. The regulations contradict the areas purpose, because a creative and artistic environment cannot exist with strict rules and regulations.

We wanted to find a way to critique the current rules and engage the users of South Bank. Instead of seeing the limitations we are inviting the audience to see the opportunities and react in a more adventurous and creative way to the restrictions.

Our purpose with this project is to raise awareness amongst the users of South Bank about their public “freedom” and make them think differently of the area and its restrictions. We are also trying to fuel more creativity, art and design, as the place is suppose to represent.

Team: Amande Heløy, Nani Duborgh, Joachim S. Murstam.

We got expelled by South Bank Corporation for ten days, and our projects point was confirmed.
The users of South Bank could share their interaction with the restricions on the website.
The gifs were intended to be spread on the web through various blogs and social networks.
