ABOUT THE PORTFOLIO
Included are several series of weekly C3 broadsheets published during my last three years at the Deseret News. My goal was to coordinate current and historical events with timely dates for teachers to use in the classroom. I gathered the information (did the research), analyzed and edited text and sidebars; then integrated supplemental graphics and illustrations/photos/archival documents. Once, the “hunting and gathering” was finished, I designed the page as well has produced it for 4-color publication through the pagination system at the Deseret News.
I personally oversaw the content, design and production of all weekly Tuesday “C3” pages for five years, from 2005 until August 31 of 2010.The color full page ran inside the Deseret News lifestyle section.
Occasionally, there was time and interest to organize several weeks in a row of a series to entice the teachers to order the newspaper over a period of time. That’s what is included in these projects.
