NT EVDO :: Wireless Broadband Internet
EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized), also known as CDMA2000 1xEvDO, is a telecommunications standard for the wireless transmission of data through radio signals, typically for broadband Internet access. It uses multiplexing techniques including code division multiple access (CDMA) as well as time division multiple access (TDMA) to maximize both individual user's throughput and the overall system throughput. It is a third generation (3G) system evolved from CDMA IS-95 and optimized for packet data services to achieve high speed, high capacity and excellent portability. The service is enabled in the EVDO R-UIM provided by NT and it can be used in various devices like USB EVDO modem, PCMCIA EVDO modem, EVDO mobile, etc.
The EV-DO feature of CDMA2000 networks provides access to mobile devices with downlink air interface speeds of up to 2.4 Mbit/s and uplink up to 153 kbps with Rel. 0. Similarly the downlink and uplink air interface speed in Rev A is up to 3.1 Mbps and 1.8 Mbps respectively.
EVDO service can be accessed using various devices. The device should be 800MHz, CDMA 1x EV-DO, Rev A with backward compatible to Rel 0. Read Less
