  • Design of the Bachelor Thesis for the Jewellery and Product designer Vera Aldejohann. The starting point for Vera Aldejohann's project was the social concept of give and take. The resulting jewellery consists of removed layers from graffitis. Through the treating of the edges with a special cutting technique Vera exposes the different layers of coloured lacquer, which are accumulated on the wall after years of graffiti painting. The resulting design concept was based on a quote from Theodor Weißenborn „Der Quell der nur gibt, versiegt - der Krug, der nur nimmt, fließt über“ (The source which only gives dries up - the jug that only accepts, flows over), which was part of Vera's introduction to her work. The idea of drying up and flowing over was transported into the layout while only the right pages of the book was filled with the informations. The aspect of the cut edges of her jewellery pieces was visualized through the colourized edges of the book and the cut headlines. Through the coptic stitching results an effect at the spine, which is similar to Vera's jewellery pieces.
