Mysterium Beer
Du Claw Beer Packaging
For Du Claw's Mysterium beer packaging I created a nontraditional package to play with the idea of mystery. Because of the seasonal nature of this craft brew I wanted to make the experience of getting a box memorable. The box I designed to push that concept almost completely hides the bottles from view except for a die-cut window in the front panel. The die cut allows you to just barely see the strange and intriguing illustration on the label. This helps to keep some of the mystery intact. I designed a dramatic cap to startle whoever opened the box and reinforce the side-show feel. I used a combination of hand drawing and photographic textures assembled in Photoshop for this packaging. I also took care to dress up the mandatory warning and bar-codes on the back label, making them look integrated instead of tacked on.
