  • My Second Pilgrimage to Bardsey Island
    One more, and it's Rome...
  • It's 7th September 2012 and I've just published a blog post about the beautiful Bardsey Island on the Llŷn Peninsular in Wales.

A more casual series of photographs (dare I say, snaps?) forms this Collection, hopefully offering you an idea of what it's like to step ashore on this magical island.

It was a searingly hot day with extraordinary, glittering deep blues all around.  As I wrote in my post — with so much sea and so little land, the light appears to dance here.

Anyway, I think you should pay Bardsey a visit — I'm sure you'd like it...
  • Approaching Bardsey by boat — extraordinary currents here (the sea appears to be on several different levels at times!)...
  • Looking south...
  • Looking back towards the mainland, the point where I captured the photograph featured in my blog post...
  • A lone boat makes its way through an extraordinary day...
  • Kath
  • Making our way towards the lighthouse...
  • Sound advice...
  • At 30 metres, this is the highest square lighthouse in the land, apparently...
  • Thrift
  • Lichen
  • More lichen...
  • When you need to move your tractor, just get another tractor...
  • Goodbye for now — my next pilgrimage will be my all-important third...
  • Oh, and this is Plas Bodegroes — the restaurant with rooms I mentioned...
