I am very blessed to come from a creative family. My wonderful Nanna has always written the most eloquent letters to me over the years so it warmed my heart when she published two books on our family history. Each reads with the bush poetry that runs in the Fitzgerald blood.
As a personal project I wanted to develop an alternative cover to her book - Victory in our Veins. It was important for me to keep with the historical theme and convey a feel of ancestry so I constructed the main parts by hand. I stained water colour paper with tea and used graphite pencils to sketch my hero image. I selected a strong yet soft serif font and then the rest all fell into place beautifully.
