My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is a series of animated television. The series premiered on October 10, 2010 in the U.S. channel The Hub, and is based on the My Little Pony franchise owned by Hasbro. The series is produced by Hasbro Studios and Studio B Productions. The series is currently in production on its fourth season in the United States and is broadcast in dozens of countries in more than ten languages.
Lauren Faust, cheerleader in several other successful children's programs, was selected by Hasbro as creative director and executive producer. Faust sought to defy nature "childish and girls" of the current line of My Little Pony, creating deeper characters and situations. He focused on themes of adventure much more than in previous animations My Little Pony, and focused on problem solving stories with friends.
