There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who like their Mustangs straight up—and those who like them with a twist.
The Ford Mustang Customizer was born out of a desire to mess with perfection; to let the fans try their hand at creating a vehicle that’s truly unique, truly their own. Plus the kicker: Ford manufactures four of the winning submissions. And guess who delivers them to the lucky receivers? Vaughn Gittin Jr.
The social aspect of this project was one of its many strengths. Thousands and thousands of custom Mustang designs were created on the web site and through the iPhone and iPad apps—then bragged about on Facebook and Twitter, on live billboards, in banner ads and on touch-screen displays at transit centers in major cities. And the fun still continues today.
Working with my team as a lead designer and contributing art director, I created the look and feel of the Ford Mustang Customizer and its many facets.
