The Museum of Modern Art has expanded by adding a new division, the Museum of Film, which is exclusively focused on the art of film. The event being advertised for the opening night is a celebration of 100 Years of Science Fiction Films. Posters and a direct mailer, including a ticket for the event, were created to promote New York’s newest Museum.
A full branding and identity was needed for launching the Museum of Film. The typeface used for the logo is Franklin Gothic, which is the same typeface used for the Museum of Modern Art logo. This helps maintain a level of branding consistency between the two museums. The color scheme was kept simple utilizing red and black, which is symbolic of film screenings and movie houses.
