  • Multicolr Search
An interactive mosaic generator that is composed of photos captured by the user
  • From the home screen, users have 3 options:
    1. View previously collected colors
    2. Play mode
    3. Connect online to share and exchange images

In play mode, the user is given a list of colors to match. Once enough colors have been collected, Multicolr Search will generate a personal mosaic that can be shared online. Play mode uses the iphone's camera to match colors and capture images. The required colors for the mosaic are located in the scrolling bar at the top of the screen. There are several levels of difficulty in game mode. The easier levels have fewer colors to find with a wider color range. The more difficult levels have a larger variety of colors to find, and players must match a more exact level of hue and brightness. The color gauge helps the user find an exact color match by adjusting the slider to the correct hue. If the scene matches the color selected, the focusing square in the center will flash and the color will disappear from the scrolling color bar. This lets the user know that the color has been collected and added to their progress. To view the collected colors, the user can select the "progress" icon located at the bottom of the screen. The progress screen displays how many colors have been found and how many are left to find. When all colors have been collected, the "create" button at the bottom of the screen will light up, and the user will be able to generate a photo-mosaic.If a user does not want to search for new colors and photos, they can select the "colors" icon located at the bottom of the screen. This is a collection of all of the user’s photos, and they are categorized by color. A user can go through all of their old photos and select which image they would like to use to create the mosaic.
Users have the option to have the final mosaic be of one of their own photos or a stock photo. The application uses all of the photos and colors the user has collected or selected, and generates a final image. The final mosaic can be saved to the iphone, or shared via email, facebook, flickr, twitter or the multicolr search database. The multicolr search database is a website where users can upload and share their individual photos or entire mosaics. Users can exchange colors to create their mosaic, and help each other find the right colors for game mode.
