I was approached to create a moving postcard for a family who had moved only 2 other times. Each time, the couple (a minister and his wife) moved further south. The woman felt like she was on a journey. I felt her journey would best be represented by a sparrow. Sailors used to get a sparrow tattooed on their chests after they had travelled a certain number of miles. As a minister, the sparrow has significance as well. The literature of the Bible uses the sparrow to show God's attention to even the smallest things in life. I thought the correlation for the couple would be a wonderful story for them to relate to their friends--they agreed. Read Less
