Bermudian families come in varying constellations, and the single parent family is more common than ever. With the vast majority of the island's single parents being female, women are all too frequently handling the responsibility of raising children alone.
Every family's story is different, but more often than not women draw support from other women in order to cope with the many demands of raising a family. Grandmothers, sisters, aunts, nieces, friends and even children themselves frequently offer support when needed.
These portraits of power celebrate powerful Bermudian mothers and their strength, as well as the women who support them.
