It is estimated that one million children in Singapore comes from divorced households by Statistics Singapore. The impact of divorce on children is not to be underestimated. We created a stool, Mother and Child, to support children who went through the challenges of divorce. The tree trunk is symbolic of Mother Nature and the green rope is the bud of life that draws its nutrients from the tree. This furniture carries a lot of potential for play and interaction, which expresses well the mother-child relationship.
