Mosaic Charter School Identity

Mosaic Charter School
Design for Education
My two passions in life are design and education, and my graphic design thesis provided me with the amazing opportunity to unite them in ways I had only dreamed of.
When I returned to my summer teaching job in 2009 I had the pleasure of working with Grayson Cooper, a University of North Carolina student who is starting a charter school in Charlotte, NC. Mosaic Charter School will be taking a radical approach to education, which will break down the barriers that are preventing gifted students from reaching their full potential.

The identity for Mosaic Charter School was my thesis, which I worked on during the 2009/2010 school years. In Mosaic Charter's mission statement they say: “…we will blur the boundary between school and home, between school and community, and ultimately between school and the world.” In my mind, a Venn diagram visually represented this concept, which is what the Mosaic Charter School logo is based on.

I took the logo and translated it into a visual culture for the school, consisting of all their branding and print design.
