More dashes and hyphens...

  • More dashes and hyphens...

  • Photograph by William Sadowski
  • Here is another random grouping of dashes and hyphens images. Taken by myself and other photographers. See captions for detail.

I started doing the dashes and hyphens back in 2005 but I still love making them. They happen much faster than the dots or the stars. I prepare by cutting loads out, this can take from a few days to a few weeks, then I past them up.

I can probably work non-stop without a break for about 3 hours or sometimes I work in short bursts. Each continuously worked-on section has its own character. Colour variations and rhythms emerge which probably coincide with my personal responses to external, and internal stimuli such as music in the room, chat, stress etc. And the quality of the dashes and hyphens I am working with.
