Moonwalker- a shoe that always gives you the appearence of moonwalking (unless you really are)

This is the first installment of a series called "factory rejects" where I hack iconic products to give them a new purpose .

I wanted to see how much of the original classic shoe I could rearrange and still retain the iconic imagery- Chucks have become ubiquitous, and all the re-releases and new versions of the shoe that have come out over the last 30 years or so have mostly modified textures, colors, and materials instead of hacking the actual design in a major way.

By moving the laces to the heel I was able to clean up the busiest part of most shoes- the top over the toe. With this area cleaned up there should be even greater opporunity to show off different materials, colors, paint schemes, and other modifications. Read Less
