This is my entry for the "Gioconda project" (http://giocondaproject.com/), a non-profit artistic experiment with a creative international flare, showcasing high quality artwork
from artists known or anonymous from all over the globe, with the attempt to bring Contemporary Art to everyone through one of the most famous works of art in history “La Gioconda”.
I was invited to join this contest some months ago, and I immediately thought that it was an amazing idea. It's not really easy to do a tribute of this wonderful Leonardo's painting,
and moreover, "original".
I took the occasion to mix the project theme with an Halloween piece (I'm actually not very used to paint stuff for special holidays), and I decided to come back to one of my long-lasting love
The Addams Family! And Morticia is perfect to play the Mona Lisa, I think they're quite similar. I also tried to keep the color palette with the same idea of Leonardo's painting, in which
the character is completely combined with the background.
So this is my double tribute painting, I hope you enjoy it!
