Molecular Genetics Center was designed as a genetic research building in contemplation of creating a spacious, inspiring space that is supposed to accommodate laboratories of which construction would be based on rational, feasible and flexible solutions. Although the present structure of the building determines spatial conformation of interior space, configuration of inner structure is supposed to vary according to the functional needs of services to be offered within the building. Thus interior design is expected to make an impression of the services offered within the building. Since educational exhibitions that would take place in this building is a remarkable consideration of this design,ramps which were located in the center of structure are supposed to meet the need of an exhibition space while it carries the function of staircase at once.the sculptured ramps which are compatible with the architectural structure of the building does not only provide the interior mobilization but also serve as a part of public space which would increase the efficiency of educational function. In this sense ,efficient use of ramps for multifunctional purposes brings novelties to the traditional functions of research laboratories.In this framework ramps do not only link ground floor to mezzanine but also enable whole structure to attract attention even from distant, and make it easily remembered. Different experience offered by use of sculptured ramps as a space for exhibition in a research laboratory can be perceived as a big novelty within the interior design ideas.Exterior facet of the building contributes to the exhibition of interior components. Allowing exterior space to be in harmony with interior design also indicates to the rational and functional characteristics of this project.Rational solutions to the formation of distinct spaces for laboratories were offered with regard to the needs of securing hygienic conditions. With this purpose in mind, basement 1 and basement 2 were allocated to the two different research laboratories which can operate distinctly but contact easily via horizontal and vertical intersections. While conference hall and fun laboratory spaces which are designed for public use were accommodated on mezzanine or first floor easy access to clinic on ground floor which was accompanied by links binding clinics to research laboratories proves that connectivity of distinct spaces were provided with rational solutions in this project.
