Here are a few examples of a style I've been exploring for the last year or so. The style is inspired by 3d wireframe or polygon models generally used in video-games and film, as well as retro futuristic animation from the 70's and 80's. I mostly take inspiration from low poly (polygon) modeled characters from early 3d games from the Playstation 1 and Nintendo 64 era of gaming, as well as current handheld consoles like the Nintendo DS. I see wireframes and polygons as a minimalist representation of anything they make up. I like to take organic forms and crunch them down to a simplistic, yet functional and recognizable polygon form made up of simple geometry.
