    a community short film
  • This film is a collaboration between BAYCAT and 826 Valencia featuring an original story by Julio Espinoza, a high school student at June Jordan School for Equity through 826 Valencia's Young Author's Book Project, and stars Ricardo Chang, a Bayview resident and a student in the BAYCAT youth program. The film is about a single mother and her son move from San Francisco to across the bay in Richmond to find that despite having a hard time adapting to the new environment, her son begins to discover a new respect for his mom after the unveiling of her struggles from the past and see's life isn't so unfair after all. I was the Art Director for the film which included set design, shooting B-Roll footage, creating the opening sequence, and designing the movie poster. This film has been accepted in several film festivals including: San Diego Latino Film Festival, Oakland International Film Festival, Sacramento International Film Festival and the San Francisco Latino Film Festival.
