Milan has around 1 million citizens, with city centers' diameter approximately 3 km, pedestrian areas stretch for up to 120.000m2.
MilanAbility develops an integrated system of information and infrastructure to encourage citizens to walk, using the 'secret' resources of the city.
 
Service functions in two levels: infrastructurural and informational one.
Informational level includes specific information system for pedestrians, accessible in different ways (via apps, web, signage system, maps), all telling the user about the city in the following ways:
   1/ study of thematic routes for the citizens of Milan (that includes route database, facilities like benches, fountains, drinking water spots, toilettes, green island, parks and other useful information - museums, theaters, cinemas, shopping places, monuments, sightseeings, universities, restaurants, fashion and design places, places for sport).
   2/ all types of public transport
   3/ signage system on the streets of Milan will highlight the city's facilities, that usually are not evident therefore not accessible.The study of already existent facilities will fascilitate designing areas for rest and relaxation that are necessary for comfortable walking.
