Microsoft Halo 2 Pre-launch campaign was a prelude to the big launch. Because it is is successor, the hype around it has to be driven by primarily the Halo 1 followers. Even before social media actually became a buzzword, I recognized the importance of social behaviour of people in the digital space. The ground works and launch of this campaign became a platform that proved that fact. A remote social platform to generate engagement was created, tapping on the existing Halo 1 followers and reaching out to their friends. What resulted was a whopping increase of more than 1738% in signups, which exceeded the initial projected KPI of 300% by leaps and bounds. This campaign won us SILVER for Best Viral Campaign in DM Asia 2005, which for that year, there was no Gold given for that category. Sweet.
