With an estimated population of 111 million and covering almost 2 million square kilometres (over 760,000 sq mi), Mexico is the fifth-largest country in the Americas, during Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica civilizations such as the Olmec, the Toltec, the Teotihuacan, the Zapotec, the Maya and the Aztec inhabited its lands, before the spaniards conquered it in 1521.
Mexican traditions have been carried along for centuries even after the Spaniards arrived trying to impose their culture and beliefs, and with an area so vast, it is not difficult for each region to have their own, and be completely different from one city to the next.
Proud of their their country, food, handcrafts and overall culture, Mexico commemorates its past on a daily basis, and this portfolio is just a humble attempt to depict Mexico's overwhelming lifestyle that celebrates life and death alike.
All these photographs are SOOC, no post processing has been used, there you have the dust spots as proof.
