The brief asked for a mixed use scheme for a site next to Tower Bridge, central London. My design proposes a new ecological centre focused on people, plants and the interaction between them. With an ecological learning centre at its heart used by the local community, tourists and scientists, the proposal maximises the natural potentials of the site through the creation of habitats for wildlife. Thus it aims to improve the quality of urban life in the centre of London by bringing parts of nature back into the city, harmonising it with social needs and offering prospects for extending existing green corridors into the city centre.
