Meditations in Emergency
- Meditations in Emergency
A visualization of the peom by Frank O'Hara - An excerpt from "Meditations In An Emergency" poem by Frank O’Hara visualized to convey the work's "feel." His poem is wrought of an emotional breakdown as the narrator is left by his “beloved”.The words call to mind a sense of deep and scarringbetrayal. So great is the distrust and disdain that theauthor’s idea of his love is distorted and villified. What had once been beautiful is now monstrous.
An ode to betrayal & corruption.
I envisioned the image of the 1950’s housewife, as the representation of the ideal woman.
The photograph used has another element present: Milk. A symbol of the female’s gift of sustenance. This symbol as well as the aforementioned idol suffer the fate of corruption, following the author’s emotional reversal.

- Circles with complex inner-functions serve as symbols of a different fashion; representing the ideal beauty and perfection of technology. The juxtaposition of modern and old concepts embodies the invariably cynical perspective of beauty which the poem suggests.
