Not Now is transforming from a collective into a full time, 100 percent creative studio.
‘Means to an End’ is an experimental project undertaken to represent this movement. It is a graphic depiction of the process that we are undergoing as a creative unit.
We burned all sketchbook work undertaken. The remains representing an end, and that which we create from these, representing a beginning. The ash will literally be used as media to create work portraying our shift from one stage into another.
The process intended to challenge and encompass the overriding state of transformation, becoming an absolute metaphor for the situation at hand.
The ash screen prints were exhibited at Quay House, Manchester on 15th June 2012, alongside a publication which documented the entire process.
100 limited edition zines were printed and given away - depicting the process.
