Meals on Main is a self-initiated coupon book project for the Mount Pleasant area, specifically Main Street in Vancouver. The entire book was for restaurants, cafes, and other eateries, with emphasis on supporting local business.
I did the branding and design, which started with a logo that would look at home with the hipster-boutique look of the street, which is a destination dining area. I chose gold and black for the palette to straddle the line between "classy dining" and "save here". We did not want this to look like a typical brightly-coloured coupon book, since many of the clients had reputations to uphold.
A mobile-first strategy was used for the supporting website, since most diners would be accessing the site through their phones. At the time of this post, the site was quite minimal.
We plan to expand to other neighborhoods with different branding for each.
