Official Press Release:

For F/W 11-12 Manish Arora takes inspiration from the free spirit of a woman who is part gypsy and part new age style icon and who is glamorous and elegant.

It also takes inspiration from the elements of magic dolls of Amrei Hofstätter, an artist based in Berlin. The prints are developed in collaboration with her and are mixed with Manish’s world of beautiful colors and amazing hand embroideries.

Somewhere within this collection there is also a world of origami that folds and unfolds through the collection and its various details.

Manish’s strength in surface ornamentation, embroideries and embellishments with his knowledge of new materials used on garments he designs can be discovered in this collection through embroideries like the hand cut velvet patch work, pearl coated fabric embroidery, three dimensional creations in origami, electrifying, electrifying vinyl chip patterns and the usage of hand cross stitched suede patchwork that dominates the collection in some of the key pieces.
Siluettes used in this collection are flirting with asymmetry as well as classic shapes ranging from knee length dresses, boleros, A line below the knee skirts, pencil skirts, amoeba sleeved tops, bodycon dresses along with futuristic capes or even bewitching cages that exude great design. In addition to innovation there are print knit dresses and T-shirts that flaunt commercial creativity.
The fabrics in this season range from silk, velvet, net, suede, leather, silk, satins, wool, crepe, cotton lycra, felt and fur in collaboration with Saga furs from Denmark along with laser cut vinyl deep night colors like emerald green, midnight blue, black, red, maroon, deep pink, dark grey among others.
A special attention has been made to the details in quality of fit, finishing and hand embroideries to deliver a collection that is luxurious and extremely modern.

Three years later Manish Arora represented India at the Hong Kong Fashion Week and participated in the first ever India Fashion Week held in New Delhi, which will distinguish him with the Best Womenswear Designer Prize on the occasion of the Indian Fashion Awards in 2004. At the same time his creations are being sold at 75 well-known stores worldwide.
