  • Man Attacked By Website
A new website to house my Man Attacked By Illustrations
  • Man Attacked By was a project that started last year as a means to record my development as an illustrator. By sticking to a set theme, I could apply my constantly evolving knowledge to each new piece.

When trying to think of a theme to adhere to, I was watching King Kong by Peter Jackson. One of the characters was devoured by a herd(?) of giant slugs whilst still alive and valiantly resisting. It was one of the grizzliest deaths on a movie I had ever seen, yet I still wanted to rewind it and watch it again. It dawned on me that, in most movies, the best parts are seeing a character (usually a bad guy) finally get what they deserve. And on some cases, this come-uppance is delivered by an animal. I always celebrate these scenes by performing a triple air-punch.

It seemed like the perfect theme.
After a few images were completed, making a website was then another excuse to carry on learning. I also thought it would be fun to create a world where humans actually lived in fear of animals after a “zoo break”.

In short, each drawing has made me smile whilst producing it and I have learnt so much in the process (in regards to composition and colour knowledge, styles and software).

I hope you enjoy looking through the work done for the
    site.
