Making The Mundane Magnficent
This project was a purely photographic, taking the ordinary and boring (the mundane) and making it interesting (the magnificent), by focusing on cropping and texture. So I thought, what could be more mundane than pavement, the ground which we walk upon? Using an iphone, to emphasise that anyone with a phone can take interesting images, I ventured around the city centre of Manchester one day, using a pedometer to count 10,000 steps and photographed every different path I encountered along that journey. As these images were to be presented in a series, I chose to present them in a concertina book to represent the journey and the paths I chose.
