Mahogany Wall Niche

Mahogany wall furniture custom designed, built and installed. The client requested that this piece match the mahogany details in the rest of the house (doors, trim, etc.). After searching high and low, I could not find anything close to the size and material needed.
So, I decided to design one for the client myself...First, an autocad file was drawn and fully spec'd. Then, I met with a professional wood shop who confirmed that my design was indeed possible. They took the file and made every piece with a CNC-router and completed the assembly. Next, I stained and urethaned the finished product to match the color of the existing mahogany in the house. Finally, the niche was installed in the clients home. A headed-off opening had to be framed. The final touch was the addition of a pendant light to illuminate the wall niche.
