Maddigan’s Freehouse is a traditional British pub based in Hackney. The food is cooked to order, using the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients. Maddigan’s is a great place for people to gather, converse and eat, Hackney is home to a diverse range of multi-cultural communities which is reflected on the Menu, the pub offers a sun-trap secret rear beer garden; soaking up the sun where dining is a favourite for the locals.
The main focus for this project was to revamp the identity to draw in additional clientele, while maintaining loyal patrons. To achieve this we enhanced the existing atmosphere and experience by using sophisticated type in a traditional setting. The combination of modern and gothic faces alludes to the past without sacrificing legibility. Additional design elements feature menu’s, drink coasters, signage for the interior, business cards, flyers, posters and waiter pads. This was definitely one of the most engaging and rewarding projects for me thus far.
