Machine Qui Reve (Variant EP Covers)

Machine Qui Reve
Variant Covers for an EP: The Electron Punk
I designed the following covers (fronts only) for an EP recorded by the band Machine Qui Reve. The French to English translation for the band name is (at least close to) Machine Which/That Dreams. The band's lead singer, Mo, wanted the pic to look like something a machine might see if it could dream (like Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" or its later reincarnation, "Bladerunner"). I made the skull pic to offer a surreal pic in contrast to the more digital look of the other pics. It came out a little bit too heavy metal for the band's sound, which you can listen to here. The band chose the "standing girl in green" pic.
More from Mo Shirazi

In 2010, Mo Shirazi, the singer/songwriter behind the music of Machine Qui Reve and Tryptocaine, expanded his creative endeavors to include writing and directing for film, both of which are showcased in the indie feature, "Doorways and Meander." Shirazi also acts, and you can watch his performances in two of Edgar Muniz's films, including "Someone Else in the Evening" and "On Parade". I had the pleasure of designing posters for both of those films, and when Shirazi offered me the opportunity to add to my own repertoire the poster for his film, I couldn't resist.
