I did this project to gain experience in the Cycling industry by interacting with Spectrum Powder Coating out of Colorado Springs, CO., Pactimo, also in Colorado for the kits and Critical Lazer out of Utah for the head badge. The bicycle frame in a Niner Air 9, and was purchased locally through Racers Cycle Service.
This project allowed me to interface within the industry, understand the process and considerations while designing in it, and taking all my experiences and meshing them together to create a branded approach to a mock cycling company.
More than anything I feel like this project gave me the most satisfaction in the experience and contacts I made throughout this process. I learned that once the design is finalized there are still several instances where art direction and branding guidelines need to be re-emphasized.
My love for cycling and the culture surrounding it is something that I've always wanted to be a part of, through design I feel like I am able to achieve that goal.
