MEXICO LINDO Y QUE HERIDO

Adrian Montes de Oca Eloisa -80 years old
Balloon vendor for the past 65 years.

"As you see me, I have been selling balloons for over 60 years.
Here is wonderful because Mexico means Liberty, and other nations do not enjoy freedom.
Here you can go anywhere you desire. Just stay away from hurting and stealing.
Freedom is Mexico’s most valuable asset. Life is freedom..."

Sergio Castellanos -  68 years old

"My trade is upholstering, but things are not good in the trade nowadays, so now I earn my life selling candies."

‘’Mexico is my homeland, it is what I am proud of. It is my country and I love it, in spite of all its troubles.
I don’t expect much for myself. But I wish a better future for my children, more schools, and that education definitely becomes much better. "

"Mexico is nice, unlike other countries that are ... how can I say?... with so much crime, so many problems, that should not be.

My country, I love it very much, and feel it is so unique. We are proud Mexicans,

Miguel Marin Linares Romero  -  28 years old

"Mexico is a very beautiful country, it is my country.

if it takes two or five years, but we hope for a real change.

Meliton Gonzalez - 45 years old
Hardware store

‘’Here we feel proud of being free.
There are so many countries that lack as much liberty as here,
in Mexico, where we can do as we wish…’’

Valente Morales Hernández - 50 years old
Bootblack

"For me, Mexico is very beautiful, but unfortunately our politicians are ruining it in every sense, that’s my opinion as a Mexican. They really are crippling the country and its people… and that is not fair. It’s unacceptable that having so much wealth in our country, it’s not used to the advantage of the people, but for their own wealth.

I hope we can breed some new leaders that can improve Mexico, and truly develop the strength it needs to succeed.

Do you believe we Mexicans are doing something for the country to change?

Unfortunately not. We need unity. While we are not united it is not possible, We cannot change things by ourselves. Maybe I say,  "Know what? I intend to change this, and I am committed to do it’’ But, all alone? It doesn’t work. I can do nothing alone, against powerful people.... It’s my point of view

Antonio Espinoza García - 61 years old

"For me, Mexico is my homeland, it is everything.
I hope we will prosper, by all working together.
Now, we are going through a recession, but still, we are working.

Mexico has always been kind to everyone in the world.
We give everyone all our respect, our love and kindness. That’s my opinion.
ALEJANDRO - 32 years old

‘’I wish people Mexico will not judge us because of our dirty appearance, as if we were thieves.
I wish society do not discriminate people working on the streets. I hope we could find better jobs, something better for our wellbeing, not for ourselves, but for our families.
That's what I would like Mexico to be, just a better place.
